Amass phobia dominates day 1, O.T., JAPASS, KASS, K-WEY GEY HEY, KOSS impress, OWASS, Prempeh, KUHIS, OKESS disappoint

T. I. Amass phobia are on course to win the double again in both the boys and girls category in the 2016 Ashanti Regional super Zonals competition after producing a matchless performance in day one of the two day event at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Amass phobia showed complete domination in the boys division in both track and field events as their athletes kept picking honours and points in a lot of events.

The sprints,  long distance races all together with field events all saw Amass edging past other competitors.

Amass broke the triple jump record in the process (Precious Attipoe) today having broken the pole vault record earlier in the interco.

Jachie Pramso were also a delight to watch with their beautiful kitting and great performance in both the boys and girls divisions though Amass looked superior to them.

K-Wey Gey Hey seemed to have disappointed their numerous supporters and are like to lose the title they won last year to Amass this year. Though very competitive and strong K-Wey Gey Hey may not be able to match the output of Amass. Aduman and Islamic are also strongly competitive as well as Kumasi Anglican who have also showed a lot of promise here.  Osei Tutu have also been good in some events with their Prince Charles showing great talent in the sprints but characteristic of O. T.  is their poor baton change which derailed their performance.

Disappointingly quiet today in day 1 are Prempeh College and Opoku Ware who looked so ordinary and keep struggling to stay competitive.

Kumasi Girls have also not been bad with occasional threat to Amass in some of the events.
Kumasi High school seemed to be mere passengers in the competition and have struggled to be competitive.

KASS will be proud of their team as they stayed competitive in a lot of the events but Okess also disappointed their admirers.

The competition enters the final day tomorrow and like will see Amass win 8× consecutively in the boys division and reclaim the title from K Wey Gey Hey.

Amass ended day one with 73 points in the girls division whiles K-Wey Gey Hey trailed them in the second position with 47 points ahead of the final day competition.

The day however belonged to JAPASS who won the boys 200m final event ahead of OT's Prince Charles Frimpong.

The likes of Aduman SHS, KNUST, KUMCA, KUGISS, Islamic SHS did not embarrass themselves in day one of the Super Zonals as they managed to win some events.
