Kumasi Technical Institute will storm the ongoing inter-schools and colleges athletics competition alongside Kumasi Wesley Girls High School who also will begin the defense of their super-zonals trophy when they storm the Baba Yara Stadium tomorrow and Friday the 18th and 19th of February alongside 30 other schools in the last zone of the inter-schools and colleges athletics competition of the Ashanti Region.
Kumasi Wesley Girls High School won the ladies category of the super-zonals in a photo-finish after winning the last event of the day to break the dominance and monopoly of Amass Phobia in both divisions. With all the contenders having advertised what they have under their sleeves ahead of the 25th and 26th February Super-Zonals, many are eager to see what the defending champions have to offer. Serwaa Nyarko Girls will however give them a good run for their money alongside OKESS and other competitive schools.
KTI have over the years made their presence felt with their massive attendance, their 'jama' chants and off field issues which all adds to the excitement of the competition.
Osei Kyeretwie SHS, Kumasi Academy, Adventist SHS-Ksi and KNUST SHS are all appearing tomorrow to showcase their potential to the numerous patrons of inter-schools athletics competition.
OKESS has been a dominant force in the competition in times past with many national athletes like Vida Anim all coming from their production line but the former giants have struggled to rediscover their past form and pedigree with many people doubting the kind of threat they pose.
