'Yentua ooo, yentua' hits some SHS across the country following release of 2nd and 3rd Terms bills of final year students

Final year students of some Senior High Schools across the country have vowed not to pay fees for the last term of their stay in school following the released of their bills covering second and part of third terms as they prepare for their final year exams. Some schools are charging as high as four hundred Ghana Cedis and above for the rest of their short stay in school compelling some students to resist the exorbitant fees which they believe is a rip off.

Reports gathered by RaphSark indicate that tension is brewing in some schools with final year students unwilling to pay what they consider as unrealistic charges. Some of the students have vowed not to pay the money until their agitations see the light of day.

The issue of over billing has become a controversial issue and keep emerging every year as finalists continue to resist the payment. It is unclear if government will intervene for the students this time round to ensure sanity in the various schools.

School authorities have been accuses in certain quarters for taking undue advantage of finalists and charging exorbitantly in their last term which often is an extension of the 2nd term into the third term.

Students in their bid to avoid any trouble and focus on their studies are forced to pay the fees though some of them may not enjoy the third term which are covered by their fees.

But this time round, the students seem to be singing the same chorus of "yentua biaa" to signal their resentment to the charges.

Only time will tell.
