The ‘jama’ war will be our focus at the 2016 Ashanti
Regional SUPER-ZONALS of the inter-schools and Colleges Athletics Competition
at the Baba Yara Stadium on Thursday and Friday of February 25th and
26th. Over the years it’s been too difficult to select the best jama
school at such high school gatherings but this year RAPHSARK blog will be doing
an analysis of the jama output of each school and rate the top five jama
schools in the region.
Last year the jama battle among schools such as KTI, Osei
Tutu, O’SECTEC, Kumasi High, Opoku Ware, Prempeh College, Kumasi Anglican,
K-Wey Gey Hey, Afia Kobi and many other schools was exciting to behold adding a
lot of colour to the whole competition.
The jama battle to watch out for this year will obviously
include/
- O.T./ K T I
- Prempeh College – Opoku Ware Battle
- KUHIS- K T I
- Afia Kobi –K-Wey Gey Hey jama battle
- YAGSS – St. Louis
There are many other battles that will obviously engage our
attention. The best jama schools at SUZO will be judged based on the following
criteria;
- Content of jama songs
- Creativity behind the songs
- The power/ ‘vim’ behind the songs
- The duration/’capa’ to keep the fire
- The decibels of noise/sound or echo made by the school at the stadium
- Choreography behind the songs
Just stay tuned here if you are a jama lover as RAPHSARK
updates on the outcome of the exciting jama battles.
