BECE Candidate Delivered A Baby Girl On Exams Day But Still Writes Exam

This week marks the week for our outstanding school children known as candidates which statistics has shown that there are over 461,000 candidates that are registered to sit for this examination.
The news today is a candidate writing Basic Education Certificate Examination, has given birth on examination day.

The candidate of 19-years old writing the Basic Education Certificate Examination from Nketepa D/A Primary and Junior High School found at Kwahu in Eastern Region, is been reported has delivered a baby girl on exams day. She was reported has given birth about 2:00am on Monday being the day the exams started.

However, this candidate was able to go to write the exams which started few hours after she delivered, when the news got to the front desk of Class FM.

Augustina Okronipa is her name, the girl who managed to write the exams which began few hours after she gave birth. Augustina Okronipa is said to be however, embarked on an hour's journey to the examination hall to partake in her first exam paper, later on came home for feeding her newly born baby girl.

According to report to the front desk of Raph Sark's Blog, it is said she made another journey to go and sit for another paper which is the second paper of the day. Report shows that she has did the same thing today just for the success of her exams.

To the BECE candidate, she said even though it was not easy as she's facing difficulties in writing her exams and at the same time breast-feeding her newly baby born, all that she's determined is to finish. This was what she said to an Accra-based FM called Class FM.

Due to the situation that teenagers are getting pregnant while the are in school, this one of the things that threatens the government and that's why there's the campaigning of Girl-Child Education. Several measures have been put in place to educate teen girls to have the focused mentality for education as key to national develoment.

When this news was brought, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang being the Minister of Education, asked the hands of female teens to keep away from acts that lead them to pregnant at the end.

Getting pregnant while in school could undermine their educational prospects due to the engaging in teenage pregnancy, by the Said by the Education Minister.
